SUMMARY

The market witnessed price reductions for the majority of the week but remains cautious amid heightened geopolotical volatility.

With limited progress in Russia–Ukraine negotiations and high-stakes talks between the US and Iran scheduled for the end of the week, the market could go either way based on what happens next.

Altercations between the US and Iran amidst a strong military buildup in the Arabian Sea have drawn the attention of commodity markets. Market participants will be closely following the talks for signs of either deescalation or further deterioration of diplomatic efforts.

Baseload power prices mostly tracked moves on the NBP gas market for the majority of the week.

The overall price positon was helped by good wind output mixed with reductions in the carbon and brent crude markets.

Say 'No' to cold calling on business energy

Unfortunately, business electricity and business gas customers in the UK are bombarded with unsolicited cold calls on a daily basis.

This unscrupulous approach does not offer the business energy customer an impartial view on the market and the price offered is more often 20-30% above the current retail price for electricity or gas.

At Energy Advice Line we strongly advise customers to not accept these offers and follow our simple steps to ensure that they are not locked into an uncompetitive contract.

Join our cold calling campaign here, and spread the word to say 'no' to cold calling on business energy!
