One third of household customers are consider switching suppliers to access time of use tariffs

Over 30% of household customers are considering switching supplier based on them being able to access specific time of use (ToU) tariffs with their new supplier.

As customers search for ways they can save money on their energy bills, switching not just to a cheaper tariff but to a tariff that suits the way they want to consume energy is a driving factor in contemplating the switch.

According to a survey by McKinsey & Company almost 50% of the people surveyed are willing to explore ToU tariffs aimed at conserving energy or ToU tariffs featuring usage warnings.

This comes as more and more households invest in solar panels, heat pumps, EV chargers and ways of harvesting electricity using batteries. They want tariffs that can back up the way they consume energy.

Switching habits are changing as consumers drive the way a supplier charges for the energy they consume.

Switch to ToU tariffs for your business

Business energy suppliers offer ToU tariffs based on how your business consumes its energy.

It’s so much easier with the latest Smart meters to access these tariffs. It will require your supplier to change your meter configuration but this will be done remotely if you have the latest smart meter.

Say 'No' to cold calling on business energy

Unfortunately, business electricity and business gas customers in the UK are bombarded with unsolicited cold calls on a daily basis.

This unscrupulous approach does not offer the business energy customer an impartial view on the market and the price offered is more often 20-30% above the current retail price for electricity or gas.

At Energy Advice Line we strongly advise customers to not accept these offers and follow our simple steps to ensure that they are not locked into an uncompetitive contract.

Join our cold calling campaign here, and spread the word to say 'no' to cold calling on business energy!
