Alexa and UK Government join forces for energy bill advice
The UK Government and Amazon’s Alexa have partnered up to help provide families with energy saving tips, with the aim of providing annual savings of over £100.
If you ask Alexa from today, you can start to “ask Alexa” for tips on saving money on your energy bills.
The initiative which is a re-launch of the “It all Add’s Up” campaign helped UK households save over £100 last year.
Access is free. Individuals can now ask Alexa to save money on their energy bills, using phrases such as “Alexa, give me some energy-saving tips”, “Alexa, give me tips to conserve energy” and “Alexa, give me tips to get ready for winter.”
Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero Claire Coutinho said: “Energy prices are down 55 per cent since their peak, but we know many families are still facing pressures.
“That is why we are continuing to provide financial support, including targeted help, such as the £150 Warm Home Discount, for those most in need.”
Minister for Energy Consumers and Affordability Amanda Solloway said: “We want everyone to be able to take easy steps this winter to save money on their energy bills.
“By following tips – such as reducing boiler flow temperature, or washing clothes at a lower temperature – families could save at least £100 a year.”
If your business electricity or business gas contract is up for renewal in the next 6 months, we would encourage you to compare prices now as retail prices are heading back up.
